Is It Possible to Collect Debt from China If the Debtor Has Assets There?

What do you do as a creditor if you have a winning judgment against your debtor in a country other than the one where the debtor has assets or is located?

What if the judgment requires the debtor to pay you, but he/she still doesn’t? He/She is likely to stay in China, and no longer retains any assets outside of China.

Do you think there’s nothing you can do with it?

No, you shouldn’t believe that the issue comes to “the End” at this point.

You can enforce this judgment in China, even though it was not made by a Chinese court.

China’s courts have greatly changed their attitude toward foreign judgments. They are now as friendly to foreign judgments as those courts in North America or Europe.
