CJP Ogugbara

Founding Partner of CJP Ogugbara & Co (Sui Generis Avocats, Nigeria)

Mr. CJP Ogugbara had his 1st LL.M from University of Lagos, Lagos State, a 2nd LL.M from University of Ibadan, Oyo State; his LL. B from Imo State University, Owerri, Imo State and B.L. from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos; all in Nigeria. He is a Licensed Arbitrator and Tax Practitioner; Chartered with the Chartered Institute of Arbitration, UK and Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria respectively.

Mr. CJP Ogugbara is the founder of CJP Ogugbara & Co (Sui Generis Avocats), a leading Law Firm in Abeokuta, Ogun State and Lagos State, Nigeria. He is a seasoned Litigation and Arbitration Attorney and had handled highly contested Commercial, Property and Tax Law Disputes in various Court of Records in Nigeria. He blemishes his practice with great experience and expertise in Energy & Environmental Law, Secured Credit Transaction Law and Property Law. He has also published several articles in leading Journals.

Maduka Onwukeme

Founding Partner of ELIX LP (Nigeria)

Mr. Maduka Onwukeme is a Corporate Attorney with a decade of legal practice experience that cuts across corporate and foreign investment transactions, commercial dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, data governance and protection, ICT and intellectual property transactions, as well as taxation.

He is a 2011 2nd Class Honours graduate of law of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor in 2012. Maduka holds the membership of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIARB), Lagos Court of Arbitration (LCA), Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN), Chartered Institute of Taxation Nigeria (CITN), and a host of other professional bodies.

He previously served as a Company Secretary/Legal Adviser on the Boards of Healthspecs Limited, Network Dexnova Consulting Limited, Network Microfinance Bank and is currently the Head of Legal in the Halogen Group, a digital security and risk management company. He is the Founding Partner of ELIX LP, a firm providing top notch legal services to clients in the areas of business law, corporate taxation, commercial dispute resolution, foreign investment as well as Intellectual Property and Information Technology advisory.

Chenyang Zhang

Partner of Tian Yuan Law Firm (China)

Mr. Chenyang Zhang is a partner of Tian Yuan Law Firm. Before joining Tian Yuan, Mr. Zhang worked at King & Wood Mallesons as a lawyer and Yuanhe Partners as a partner respectively. Mr. Zhang has been focusing on cross-border debt collection for almost 10 years. His area of practice includes litigation and arbitration related to international trade and investment, recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards in China, dissolution and liquidation of enterprises and etc. In addition, Mr. Zhang is experienced in commercial background investigation and evidence collection.

Mr. Zhang’s clients include large-scale Chinese enterprises such as Sinopec, CNOOC, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Capital Airport Group, Cinda Investment, as well as trading and investment enterprises from the US, Italy, Australia, India, Italy, Brazil, UAE, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and other countries or regions. Through negotiation, litigation, arbitration and other means, Mr. Zhang has successfully recovered the debt against companies in Mainland China for plenty of foreign creditors. Focusing on research of private international law, Mr. Zhang obtained bachelor’s and master’s degrees in law from China Foreign Affairs University. Mr. Zhang used to serve as an expert witness on laws of Mainland China in a case heard by the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre.
